Cotswolds Net Carbon Development
Located within the Cotswold district, a historic site dating back to the Second World War, was earmarked for a new breath of life as a residential development.
The development would be the first in the UK to use an inter-seasonal thermal store to capture and retain summer solar energy for use throughout the winter months.
In keeping with the vernacular of the area, the project would stand out as a highly sustainable and innovative project achieving zero carbon generation through strategies such as increased thermal efficiency, low energy lighting utilising PV solar panels, as well as heat recovery systems.
Features include community rainwater harvesting and reed beds to treat waste water. Maintaining the aesthetic of the designated Area of Natural Beauty, the project would also seek new opportunities to enhance the surrounding biodiversity and ecological value of the site.
