Open Loop Geothermal on the Thames

This new build site is located on the Thames chalk aquifer and will soon enjoy the benefits of an open loop geothermal heating system. The near constant groundwater temperature offers excellent heat pump performance, with a plentiful supply of water that is extracted and then returned to the ground all within the confines of the site.

When compared with ASHP there will be no visible external equipment and near silent operation. Whilst there is a higher capital cost, the clients have taken a longer term view and are looking to recover the initial investment with the help of the £6,000 boiler upgrade scheme.
