Stowe House in Buckinghamshire is Grade I-listed building which hosts one of the most significant examples of neo-classical architecture in Britain.

Built for Sir Richard Temple in the 17th Century, it has been the home of Stowe School since 1922.

A multi-phase programme or restoration was started in 1999 with a series of internal and external works undertaken across 2 decades, many requiring delicate coordination around the daily operation of the school. 

​

Among the complex challenges involved with the restoration was restoring interiors that had been stripped of the original contents following the 1992 sale of the estate. 

​

The Marble Saloon, a focal point of the house underwent extensive conservation, including repairs to the coffered ceiling and marble saloon.
